Iron Removal

Iron removal is the process of removing iron from water.

Iron removal can be applied by either ion exchange, iron filters, water softeners or chemical feed pumps.

When iron is present in water, it can stain fixtures, pipes, flooring and laundry, discolor water, cause dry or itchy skin, give water a metallic taste, and prevent soaps or detergents from lathering.

Iron bacteria that feeds on the iron in water can cause slimy texture which can clog pipes and valves.
